ASUS Unveils Major Update to Armoury Crate SE Software with ROG Ally X Launch

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced the release of Armoury Crate Special Edition 1.5 (ACSE 1.5), a significant update to their control software, coinciding with the launch of the ROG Ally X gaming handheld. The ROG Ally X boasts a powerful 80 Wh battery, enhanced joysticks and face buttons, and redesigned handgrips, making it a substantial upgrade over the original ROG Ally.

Centralized Gaming Hub

ACSE serves as the central hub for game storage, access, and settings customization for both the ROG Ally and ROG Ally X. The latest update, ACSE 1.5, introduces a more console-like and user-friendly interface, offering enhanced customization for game title displays and revamped carousel and list views. This update marks a significant improvement in usability since its initial launch over a year ago.

Intuitive and Customizable UI

One of the standout features of ACSE 1.5 is its intuitive, console-like UI. Gamers can now enjoy new layouts, including list and horizontal views, providing more ways to personalize their gaming experience. The addition of a Light Mode option complements the existing Dark Mode, and the new My Favorites tab allows for easy sorting of frequently played games. Additionally, the Game Library view now supports quicker game uninstallation and introduces a new search function, catering to gamers with extensive game collections.

Enhanced Game Profile Customization

ACSE 1.5 brings significant upgrades to Game Profile customization. Each installed game now has a separate entry, allowing users to create tailored settings for each game. Features like Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF), and Radeon Anti-Lag can be enabled or disabled on a per-game basis. The update also allows users to import and export their unique Game Profile settings, complete with button mappings and device settings, fostering a community of shared gaming experiences.

Seamless Updates and Advanced Features

The ACSE 1.5 update consolidates nearly all Ally updates into one seamless location, including BIOS and driver updates. This year, ACSE added support for gyroscope control and an adjustable TDP slider in Manual Mode. Gamers can also benefit from simple calibration tools for gyro and joystick sensitivity, along with more customization options for the real-time monitor tool, enhancing device performance tracking.

The latest version of Armoury Crate SE redefines the software experience for the ROG Ally and Ally X, allowing gamers to focus more on gaming and less on tweaking settings.
