The Legend of Zelda: BOTW - Nintendo Switch 2 Version in the Works at Nintendo

Remember when we covered that Nintendo allegedly showed off an improved version of Breath of the Wild on the Switch 2 during Gamescom last year? As covered back then, the Switch successor was demoed behind closed doors, and one of the games that was shown was reportedly an enhanced version of 2017’s Zelda entry. Shortly after this initial report, we wrote that the Switch 2 was claimed to be capable of running Breath of the Wild in 4K resolution at 60FPS.

Although we assumed that this was merely a tech demo to display the capabilities of the Switch successor, known SEGA/Atlus leaker ‘Midori’ now suggests that Nintendo is actually working on an enhanced BOTW Switch 2 version. The codename for the Switch 2 is said to be ‘Muji’, and interestingly, the addition of the “O” suffix hasn’t been used by Nintendo before. This might very well suggest that the “O” suffix is for the Switch successor. Fans are speculating that this could indeed be an enhanced version of Breath of the Wild.

On the current Switch, the game runs in 900p at 30FPS in docked mode, and 720p at 30FPS in handheld mode. Imagine a BOTW Switch 2 version that runs at 60FPS in 4K resolution—that would be a dream come true for fans!

What are your thoughts on this? Would you buy a BOTW Switch 2 version if it became a reality?
