5/02/2024Elden Ring Is Only Getting Shadow of the Erdtree for DLC
FromSoftware fans, rejoice! The highly anticipated action RPG Elden Ring is set to receive its first and only DLC expansion, titled “Shadow of the Erdtree.” In a recent interview with FromSoftware president and Game Director Hidetaka Miyazaki, it was confirmed that there won’t be a second expansion as previously rumored. Instead, players can look forward to diving into the Land of Shadow with this meaty DLC on June 21.
Why Only One DLC?
Miyazaki explained that Elden Ring emphasizes exploration and adventure in its vast open world. To maintain the freedom of exploration and the sense of adventure, the team decided to create a single substantial DLC rather than splitting it into multiple parts. The Erdtree expansion promises to answer some of the mysteries left unsolved in the base game, although Miyazaki couldn’t guarantee a complete understanding of the overall story. Players will encounter new characters, including the enigmatic Mikaela and the intriguing Torina.
